Lily goes car shopping and finds two cars. The first one burns fossil fuel, gasoline, that sells for $18,000. It will cost $100

each month to buy fuel and maintain this car. The second car is a fuel cell car that is cleaner for the environment, but costs $22,400. It will cost $60 each month to run and maintain this car.
If Lilly keeps the car for 5 years, how much will each car cost to buy and run over the 5 year period? Which car should Lilly buy?

Answer:

Cost to buy and run the first car for 5 years=$24000

Cost to buy and run the second car for 5 years=$26000

I think we should buy the first car, because It is cheaper to buy and maintain

Step-by-step explanation:

first car:

Cost $18000 to buy

Cost $100 to maintain each month

5years =5 x 12=60months

Cost to maintain for 60months=100x60=$6000

First car cost to buy and run over the 5 year period=18000+6000=$24000

Second car:

It cost $22400 to buy

Cost $60 to maintain each month

5years=60months

Cost to maintain for 60months is 60 x 60=$3600

Cost to buy and run over the second car for 5years is 22400+3600=$26000

Ms. Chu plotted the points (4,3) and (-1,3) on a coordinates plane. The points are vertices of a right triangle with an area of
bogdanovich [222]
Formula for the area of a triangle is 1/2bh
b=distance between the two points you gave.
distance between (4,3) and (-1,3) is 5.
1/2 * 5 * h = 15 square units
2.5 * h = 15 square units
h=6
This means the right triangle can be any point that is 6 units higher or lower than the two points you gave.

One of the answers to the question is (4,9). This is because the y value for the point (4,3) was changed by 6. Another possible answer is (4,-3) since distance cannot be negative, so it is still 6 units away from the point (4,3)

To find the third answer add 6 to the y value of (-1,3). The fourth answer can be found by subtracting 6 from the y value of (1,-3). Hope this helps.

Answer: The two events are independent

Explanation:

Since the king was placed back in the deck and the deck was re-shuffled,

the drawing of a king does not effect the probability of subsequently drawing a queen.

What is the correct solution set for the following graph?
Molodets [167]

Answer:

The correct solution set is a point in Quadrant II.

Step-by-step explanation:

You can see that if you extend the lines, they will eventually intersect at only one point. The quadrants start with I in the upper right corner, go II in the upper left corner, III in the bottom left corner, and IV in the bottom right corner. You can see that they will eventually intersect in the upper left corner, Quadrant II.

Stan borrows $5,500 at a rate of 12% interest per year. What is the amount due at the end of 5 years if the interest is compound
daser333 [38]

Answer:

1.) Without compound interest, you would earn only $8800.00. This means that thanks to the power of compound interest you will earn an additional $1191.83 in interest at the end of the 5 year term.

2.) Using the compounded interest formula, you will earn $22883.01 after the 7 year term.

3.) Because of the negative interest, the compounded amount is only $695,929.30.

4.) Putting money in a saving account is saving money with a lower earning compared to investments. Investments have the higher potential of earning more than just having a basic savings account.
