Answer:

B, -1

Step-by-step explanation:

on a graph with 2 points (or more) listed, you can count the points from each coordinate to determine slope (which is rise/run also known as y/x)

going from left to right, we start at (1,4) and count down from (1,4) to (3,2), we go down 2 units

going from left toright again, we start from (1,2) (our point we counted down to from (1,4) and count to the left 2 units

we are now at (3,2)

it took us 2 points down (negative) and 2 to the right (positive) to get from (1,4) to (3,2)

using rise/run we have the following:

-2/2 < we can simplify this further by dividing -2 by 2 and getting 1

the answer is B, -1

ANOTHER WAY

another way we can calculate the slope is by the following formula

y2 - y1/ x2- x1

(1,4) is our x1 and y1, while (3,2) is our x2, y2. we plug this into the formula and we get:

y2 - y1 = 2 - 4 = -2

x2 - x1 = 3 - 1 = 2

-2 / 2 = -1

we still have the same answer, and this formula is useful when you dont have a graph to count down from

Answer:

B. - 1

Explanation:

y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

2 - 4 / 3 - 1 = -2 / 2 = -1

Han and Priya were making a kite. Han cut out a piece of fabric so
Lemur [1.5K]

A kite is a quadrilateral which has two equal adjacent sides. Therefore measuring the lengths accurately would make the pieces of wood perpendicular. Since the diagonals of a kite are at right angle to each other.

Quadrilaterals are shapes which has four straight sides. Examples are; square, trapezium, kite, rectangle etc.

A kite is a shape which has adjacent sides to have equal lengths. It has two diagonals, and one line of symmetry.

The lengths of the sides of the fabric being exact imply that the pieces of wood would be perpendicular as suggested by Priya when fixed appropriately to the piece of fabric. This is because the diagonals of a kite are always perpendicular. Thus measuring the angles as suggested by Han is not necessary.

Nitella [24]

Answer:

The coordinates of A could be anything in the form of (x, y, z) if you have a third axis. First you count where A is on the x-axis then the y-axis and if you have a 3-dimensional graph then the z-axis.

Alla [95]
If two angles are known to be the same, the triangles are similar! If this is true, then by default the third angle will be the same. So, triangles that have two of the same angles MUST be similar!
