Area of one triangle:

Area of another triangle:

Base = 12 inches

Area of triangle = $\frac{1}{2} bh$

                          $=\frac{1}{2} \times 12 \times 10$

                          = 60 square inches

Total area of the two triangles = 40 square inches + 60 square inches
