Answer:

inability to perform well in school

withdrawal from social relationships

Explanation:

Cocaine is an alkaloid derived from coca leaves (Erythroxylon coca), providing a stimulating effect on the central nervous system - which can cause effects such as euphoria and a feeling of "power" to the user. It is one of the most widely used psychoactive substances in the world in a recreational way, but constant use can cause serious problems for the user.

Admittedly, using cocaine will make Pete less tired for a while, but the effects of cocaine on Pete's body can be devastating and prevent him from achieving his goals. This is because cocaine memory loss, loss of mental concentration, loss of analytical ability, sudden mood swings, among other effects that would probably make Pete unable to perform well in school and cause the abandonment of social relationships, the that would make it hard for Pete to win the scholarship he wants so badly.

Answer:

Melanin is a skin pigment.

Explanation:

Melanin is a skin pigment that is present in the bottom layer of the skin's epidermis. Melanin may help protect the skin from Ultraviolet rays. Increasing in the concentration of melanin may block processes in the body that lead to skin cancer. Ultraviolet light kills cells by damaging their DNA. The light starts a reaction between two molecules of thymine which is one of the bases that is responsible for the formation of DNA molecule. Melanin has the ability to absorb Ultraviolet light which automatically protects skin cells. The presence of melanin in the skin decreases the rate of skin cancer diseases around the world.
