A. IS INCORECT because it needs to be changed to AFFECT.

B. IS INCORECT because it also needs to be AFFECT.

C. IS CORRECT because it properly uses EFFECT in a scentence.

D. IS INCORECT because it needs to be changed to AFFECT.

Most of the time, you'll want affect as a verb meaning to influence something and effect for the something that was influenced. The difference between affect and effect is so slippery that people have started using "impact" as a verb instead. Don't be one of them! -coppied from google if you choose to use this please dont copy it word for word! thanks

Which rhetorical appeal relies on logic and reasoning? ethos pathos logos harmatia
Jobisdone [24]
The correct answer is logos. Logos is logical appeal, or the appeal to reasoning. Ethos is ethical appeal, or an attempt to make the speaker or writer appear trustworthy, and pathos is emotional appeal, or an attempt to make the reader feel strongly about the speaker or writer's topic. A harmatia, in literature, is a fatal flaw in a character, and has nothing to do with persuasion or rhetorical language, as far as I know.

Hope this helps!

Derek nodded, still wary of his brother’s apparatus. He wasn’t sure that he wanted some machine toying with his subconscious whi
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer:

C) to show that Derek succeeded in using the Dream Machine to complete his project

Explanation:

So, the previous paragraphs established the problem of the story; Derek has a project that is due tomorrow, he hasn't even started writing it, he has no idea what to write and his brother presents him with the possible solution - the Dream Machine.

Now, the paragraph 8 shows the way machine works, paragraph 9 shows that the machine works and that in his dream he saw the Olympics - the theme of his project, and paragraph 10 shows his teacher praising him for the job he had done on the project.

These three paragraphs imply that Derek successfully used the Dream Machine which helped him complete his project.

15. What is the MOST LIKELY reason that historic sites like the Palace of Westminister were built along the Thames?
Svetlanka [38]

Remark

Be very careful how many parts you post to a question.

15

The answer is between C and D. Historically people did think parts of it must have been beautiful. It is 215 miles long!! There must be parts of it that are rural and quite beautiful. All rivers have a beauty to them. Not very many hoards really tried to come up the river to make an invasion against London. The answer is D. That 215 miles is a huge distance and it lends itself very well to commerce.

16

London has a very large population. Millions of people dumping refuge into a river would sure get someone's attention. I think the obvious answer is C. A is a tempting answer, but where would they go? Pick C

17

D is indirect and not very much. Fish exhale oxygen, that not enough to make any difference to the atmosphere. Also trees along the banks would also produce oxygen but again not a significant amount.

Up stream you might find grain harvesting, but other parts of England would do better.

Light to see with is just an answer to make 4. It might be right, but it's not relevant.

Always think transportation. A is what you should pick.

18

There i no other answer but D.

A would overlook the pollution

B Recreation does not equal pollution problems of a river. Recreation might contribute to the pollution problems of a river, but that is not your best answer.

C You could do that, but D is more to the point. C is the second best answer.
