In the north, Gallic tribes moved to northern Italy and destroyed the Etruscan cities there. ... Their culture was influenced by Greek traders, and by the Greek colonists of southern Italy. The Etruscan alphabet was originally Greek, and they passed their alphabet on to the Romans.

Answer:

The Greeks and Italians also point to the parallels in their cultures up to this day. Roman architecture and Architecture in Greece are surprisingly similar. The mythology is almost identical, with both sets of gods residing on Mount Olympus. When a Roman Patrician wanted to reach the highest level of education during the beginning of the Roman Empire, they attended the schools in Greece. For example, by translating many of the texts from Greek to Latin, one of Rome's leading thinkers, constitutionalist, and one of the politicians allied against Julius Caesar introduced the "popular" Roman to the Greek philosophers. During his infancy Greek also helped to protect the Roman Empire. Spartan soldiers have often been called up to assist the Roman Legions in their battles against the Parthian Middle East Empire.
