Infertility as caused by absence of egg cells.

Explanation:

One of the primary function of ovaries is the growth and maturation of one egg per month. The matured egg is released into the fallopian tubes for fertilization.

If ovaries are not working, egg formation and its release would not happen leading to infertility in the woman.

One result is that the ovaries would be unable to produce oocytes (eggs) for fertilization hence the woman would be unable to conceive. Another is that the woman would have an abnormal menstrual cycle due to abnormalities in the production of estrogen and progesterone by the ovary.
