After the April 9, 1942, U.S. surrender of the Bataan Peninsula on the main Philippine island of Luzon to the Japanese during World War II (1939-45), the approximately 75,000 Filipino and American troops on Bataan were forced to make an arduous 65-mile march to prison camps. The marchers made the trek in intense heat and were subjected to harsh treatment by Japanese guards. Thousands perished in what became known as the Bataan Death March.

Answer:

Prisoners were treated poorly in both situations.

Explanation:

During World War II, the Americans were captured by the Japanese army and suffered inhumane treatment. They were tortured, kept without food and water in a filthy environment. In addition, Americans were victims of macabre experiences. Those who survived were forced to participate in the Bataan Death March, where they had to walk for many miles, receiving mistreatment and dying.

How can our interpretations of the Constitution change?
Alexxandr [17]
Well first of all, the Constitution can be interpreted in many different ways just like any other passage that you might read. These interpretations change over time based on events that happen and society changing. For example the Second Amendment has the possibility of being repealed in the near future because of public shootings.
An amendment is the only way to change the Constitution and they are formal as I'm pretty sure that both houses of Congress-the Senate and the House of Representatives- has to agree to the change.

What impact do you think world religions have on people and societies today ?
kolezko [41]

Postive effects could be that it brings people together, gives them a community for supporting each other, focuses their attention on God. It provides a moral framework, comfort for those in need, the promise of an afterlife... and so on.

Negative effects are that the different religions can be seen to inspire conflict in the world, some might say that they focus people too much on religious things rather than on day to day things (so you lose the plot basically!).
