Ms. Haan said in todays lesson, "We are going to analyze song lyrics that are based on political events."

Explanation:

'in' is not capitalized. 'todays' is not today's because that would be today is and "today is lesson" does not make sense. Also quotations go around every sentence that is being spoken or quoted.
