6. ____________________ are the most vulnerable roadway users.
notsponge [240]
A. Pedestrians and bicyclists. They are the most vulnerable because they have little or no protection if they are struck by a motorized vehicle. Slow-moving vehicles (such as farm equipment) and vehicles towing trailers account for plenty of accidents. The National Agriculture Safety Database notes that as many as two out of three highway accidents involve a slow-moving vehicle. But those vehicles and their drivers are not the ones in a vulnerable position -- the weight and size of such vehicles protects their operators. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that in 2015, 5,376 pedestrians and 818 bicyclists lost their lives in crashes where they were hit by a motor vehicle. That was 18% of the traffic fatalities reported in that year..

What was the u.s government purpose for invading afghanistan passing the patriot act and creating the department of homeland sec
Alisiya [41]
All of these aforementioned actions were taken as a means to fight terrorism.

For example, the Patriot Act allowed the federal government to go through phone records of individuals who may be suspected of terrorist activities. Along with this, it gave the federal government more power to listen in on private conversations and more flexibility in detaining people who might have made an attack on American soil.

The Department of Homeland Security has a very similar role, as this agencies entire mission is to keep America safe from possible attacks. This agency works relentlessly on this mission to stop threats from foreign and domestic citizens.
