Answer: Abolitionists from the Second Great Awakening called for the immediate emancipation of all enslaved people. They wanted to incorporation of freed people into US society.

They claimed slavery denied the humanity of enslaved people, went against christian teachings and was sinful. Abolitionists spread their message through various ways such as newspapers, The Liberator.
