True. Acceleration is a vector meaning it has a magnitude and direction. The negative sign just determines whether or not it is accelerating in the positive or negative direction.

Which was not a result of the 1898 discovery of the four blood types and advances made during the two World Wars? improved blood
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

All blood types are made compatible with each other.

Explanation:

The different types of blood showed that not all blood types are compatible with each other. This is the reason why when a doctor transfer blood, this has to be compatible with the person's blood. Otherwise, the immune system will recognize the blood cells as antigens and proceed to destroy it.

Red blood cells in its surface can have different types of proteins, the proteins or lack of it that a person has determines the type of blood (A, B, AB). Also, if the cell has the Rh protein it will be positive, and if it does not have it, it will be negative. In total, we have eight blood types A+, A-,B+, B-,AB+, AB-,0+,0-  and the compatibility depends on the proteins that a person has.

Organ where carbohydrate absorption occurs
Rina8888 [55]

Answer: Small intestines

Explanation: Digestion of carbohydrates begins in the mouth mechanically and through salivary amylase. It passes down to the stomach by parastalsis, digested further and goes to the small intestines where their absorption begins. Carbohydrates are a source of glucose, that most organs use as their primary energy source. Indigestible carbohydrates and fibers travels down to the large intestines where they are digested by bacteria or eliminated as waste through the anus.

The small intestines consist of microvilli that increase surface area for maximum nutrient absorption. Carbohydrates are absorbed by the small intestines via the jejunum, taken to the blood stream then transported to the liver where glycolysis and most metabolic pathways take place, for energy production.
