8 goes with 3/5: 10 goes with n     (n being the number of cups)

\frac{8}{3/5}  =  \frac{10}{n}

Use cross products and we get  8n = 6
Now divide by 8
<u>8n</u>  = <u>6
</u><u />8       8

n= 6/8 or 3/4 of a cup of flour.

\bf \textit{area of a circle}\\\\&#10;A=\pi r^2~~&#10;\begin{cases}&#10;r=radius\\&#10;-----\\&#10;A=24\pi &#10;\end{cases}\implies 24\pi =\pi r^2\implies \cfrac{24\pi }{\pi }=r^2&#10;\\\\\\&#10;24=r^2\implies \boxed{\sqrt{24}=r}\\\\&#10;-------------------------------\\\\&#10;\textit{circumference of a circle}\\\\&#10;C=2\pi r\qquad \qquad \implies C=2\pi\left( \boxed{\sqrt{24}} \right)~~&#10;\begin{cases}&#10;24=2\cdot 2\cdot 2\cdot 3\\&#10;\qquad 2^2\cdot 6&#10;\end{cases}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;C=2\pi \sqrt{2^2\cdot 6}\implies C=2\pi (2\sqrt{6})\implies C=4\sqrt{6}~\pi

You randomly select one card from a 52-card deck. find the probability of selecting a redred fivefive or a redred fourfour.
inysia [295]
There is 2 red fives in a deck ( Hearts and Diamonds) and 2 red fours, for a total of 4 possible cards.

This would give a probability of 4/52, which reduces to a 1/13 probability.
