Here, 2.4 / 4.5 = -t
In order to convert it into more simpler form ,you need to multiply both numerator and denominator by 10, & change the sign,

t = -24/45
t = -8/15
t = -0.53

In short, Your Answer would be: -0.53 or -8/15

Hope this helps!

You have to multiply 4.5 for both side to eliminate the denominator and then change the sign

(2.4*4.5)= -t

10.8=-t
-10.8=t

A pan is heated to 409°F, then removed from the heat and allowed to cool in a kitchen where the room temperature is a constant 7
Irina18 [472]

Answer: C. 265.9^{\circ}F

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The formula below can be used to find D, the difference in temperature between the pan and the room after t minutes.

D = 338e^{-0.03t}

At t= 8 minutes, we get

D = 338e^{-0.03(8)}\\\\\Rightarrow\ D = 338e^{-0.24}\\\\\Rightarrow\ D = 338(0.786627861067)\\\\\Rightarrow\ D = 265.88\approx265.9^{\circ}F

The approximate temperature of the pan after it has been away from the heat for 8 minutes=   265.9^{\circ}F
