to find the hypotenuse (or the ramp in question 4) you can use the equation

a^{2} +b^{2} =c^{2}

with a and b being the 3 feet and 9 feet and c being the unknown (ramp).

So if you plug 3 and 9 into the equation, it looks like this.

3^{2} +9^{2} =c^{2}

then square them.

9+81=c^{2}

simplify.

90=c^{2}

take the square root of both sides.

\sqrt{90} = c

\sqrt{90} is approx. 9.5 so the answer would be H.

Answer:

<h2>240.34</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

ΔA = 90° - 31°

= 59°

sin A = perpendicular ÷ base

sin 59° = 400 ft ÷ y

1.6643 = 400 ft ÷ y

y = 400 ÷ 1.6643

y = 240.34 ft

The scale factor from S to M is 3/2 What is the scale factor from M to S
natita [175]

we conclude that if the scale factor from S to M is 3/2, then the scale factor from M to S is 2/4.

<h3></h3><h3>What is the scale factor from M to S?</h3>

Suppose we have a figure S. If we apply a stretch of scale factor K to our figure S, we can say that all the dimensions of figure S are multiplied by K.

So, if S represents the length of a bar, then after the stretch we will get a bar of length M, such that:

M = S*K

If that scale factor is 3/2, then we have the case of the problem:

M = (3/2)*S

We can isolate S in the above relation:

(2/3)*M = S

Now we have an equation (similar to the first one) that says that the scale factor from M to S is 2/3.

Then we conclude that if the scale factor from S to M is 3/2, then the scale factor from M to S is 2/4.

2. Solve. x2 - 72 = 0
Effectus [21]

Answer:

x = ± 6\sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

x² - 72 = 0 ( add 72 to both sides )

x² = 72 ( take the square root of both sides )

x = ± \sqrt{72} = ± \sqrt{36(2)} = ± 6\sqrt{2}

Find the indicated term of 4, 2 ,0
Kipish [7]

Answer:

13, 16

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find the common difference.

4 - 1 = 3

7 - 4 = 3

10 - 7 = 3

Find the next two terms.

10 + 3 = 13

13 + 3 = 16
