Read the excerpt from "Flight into Yesterday.” This leg was also the most dangerous of the entire trip. Howland, 2,600 miles to

the east, was a tiny speck of land in the middle of the vast Pacific. It would take all of her skill as a pilot and Fred’s as a navigator to find the island. But danger did not worry her. She knew that flying carried risks. She faced them and accepted them. What mattered was setting herself a challenge and meeting it. What mattered was showing that women could do what men could do and encouraging other women to do what they were capable of. That was why she was flying over the Pacific, looking for a speck of land. Fame was never her goal. The important thing was to do what she had set out to do and to do it as well as she knew how. She had been that way all her life. Amelia Earhart, world-famous flier, was very much like the young girl who once lived in Atchison, Kansas. What best describes the author’s purpose? The author wants readers to understand what Earhart’s childhood was like in Atchison, Kansas. The author wants readers to understand why Earhart would go on such a dangerous trip. The author wants readers to understand why Earhart became such a famous figure around the world. The author wants readers to understand how Earhart’s skills applied to the challenge she faced.

The author wants readers to understand why Earhart would go on such a dangerous trip.

Answer: Option B.

Explanation:

‘Earhart’s Flight into Yesterday’ is an excellent book about Amelia Earhart’s flying experiences by Caption Laurance. After reading the excerpt, one can figure out that the author want readers to understand the reason behind Earhart going on such a dangerous trip.

It was not that Earhart wanted to achieve fame and success. Rather she wanted to change the perspective of the people regarding women. She wanted to show the world that even women are capable enough to fly an aircraft. And which is why she decided to fly over the Pacific. She was the one who set many records that not even men were capable of.

At the end of the passage from Endymion Spring, Blake seems to feel that the book is
mafiozo [28]

Answer: I dont know if that's what you meant but im So Sorry if it's wrong

Explanation:

Blake slowly knelt down before the book. He was frightened though curiosity overruled reason. He was breathing deeply, though he heard a softer breath coming from below him.

"Impossible;' he thought. "It's just a book!”

He told himself that it was his imagination, that a book can’t breathe.  The volume was tilted towards him. He had knocked it back and out of sight upon touching it.

“A conscious book? That's silly! Well. maybe not.“  Blake always read Sci-Fi and horror books where inanimate objects always seemed to emit some sort of energy.  Something that the puny human mind couldn't understand. He didn't believe in any of that. but he decided he turn over the book just in case.

He slowly turned it over. prepared to be attacked. But no attack came.  There was a green liquid covering the back of his hand which began burning his fingers. Just as he made this observation. the same green liquid began pouring first from the right shelf, then the left shelf at an increasing rate. When it touched the carpet, it disappeared.  Blake heard the fast flipping of pages and the cry of a little girl. Then. everything stopped. He heard the clicking sound of heels on a floor which he surmised  was the librarian.

He couldn't trust anyone. Maybe she had something to do with the book. He ran into the other corridor until she left. He waited, breathing heavily. He heard the clicking sound getting softer. and he knew she had walked away.

He ran upstairs and found his mom.

"Mom, I think it's time to leave,” he said, never planning to enter that library again.
