Answer:

T= -10.8

Step-by-step explanation:

Ok so I don't know if you have done this in class, but the way my teacher taught me is to isolate the variable. In this case the variable is t, to isolate t we have to do the opposite of what is going on. So it is t divided by 4.5. The opposite of that is multiplying by 4.5. Once you multiply by 4.5 the division and multiplication cancels out leaving you with t.

You are not done; however you have to multiply both sides by 4.5 because if you don't then the sides aren't equal. So when you multiply 2.4 by 4.5, you get 10.8.

However, there is still one final step. You have -t=10.8, so to find t we have to multiply both sides by -1.

This leads t to equal -10.8

Find the absolute maximum and absolute minimum values, if any, of the function. (If an answer does not exist, enter DNE.)f(x) =
lyudmila [28]

Answer:

The absolute minimum value is "-\frac{21}{4}" and the absolute maximum value is "15".

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

f(x)=x^2-x-5

on,

[0,5]

By differentiating it, we get

⇒ f'(x)=2x-1

Set f'(x)=0

then,

⇒ 2x-1=0

          2x=1

            x=\frac{1}{2} (Critical point)

When x=0,

⇒ f(x)=-5

When x=\frac{1}{2},

⇒ f(x)=-\frac{21}{4} (Absolute minimum)

When x=5

⇒ f(x)=15 (Absolute maximum)
