How do you think the invention of the radio changed the sport of American baseball?

Radio broadcast of a baseball game was able to collapse space and time. In other words, you no longer had to be at the game, to experience the game. People would gather at their homes or offices or on the street to listen to it. Also, fans had more than an outline of the action the played out visually allowing better understanding and wider appreciation for the sport.
