The invention of the steam engine became the cornerstone of the Industrial Revolution, it was employed in many ways:

Steam engines rely on hot steam from boiling water then drive back and forth a piston whose movement creates power

From this invention, new machinery developed to be used in factories, mining sectors, trains and also used as a new engine for the shipping boats. With this increased economic activity, the Industrial Revolution led Britain to become the ultimate power in the region.

Coal mining was made possible in increased amounts, as it became broadlly used in steam machines and used in smelting iron.

With the increased production of coal, more sectors developed depending on this raw material.

High Coal and Iron amounts resulted in the invention of new machinery, mainly used in industries, railways and building bridges.
