I believe the answer is: Nonverbal communication is usually believed over verbal communication.

Non-verbal communication usually contain the true emotion that is experienced by the people. For example let's imagine a child is running and fall to ground.

- first scenario, the child say "It's not hurt" while greening ear to ear

- Second scenario, the child say "it's not hurt" but he is saying it while holding back his tears.

Even though two scenarios contain the same verbal message, the non-verbal message is extremely different. In scenario 2, you woulld most likely believe that the child felt hurt from the fall because of the tears (nonverbal) regardless of the verbal message.

What reasons can you think of that would explain why railroads were a better means of transportation than were steamboats?
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

The railroad had major advantages over previous modes of transportation, being both flexible and dependable; they were not subject to winter ice as canals were, and were faster and more reliable than steamships. This was especially important when transporting agricultural products.

Explanation:

Railroads created a more interconnected society. Counties were able to more easily work together due to the decreased travel time. With the use of the steam engine, people were able to travel to distant locations much more quickly than if they were using only horse-powered transportation.

svetlana [45]

Answer:

B. Close mindedness

Explanation:

Close mindedness simply means to have a mind that is not receptive to new ideas. To be closed-minded. Can mean disapproving, not willing to consider a different idea or opinions.

When one has already decided not to change his/her mind no matter what you tell him/her, he disapproves. This is being close-minded. Close-mindedness will make you not to be able to listen to and understand what you are being told. This is basically because you already have an opinion concerning what you are being told and you are not ready to change it.

Because Dan is an atheist, he doesn't want to hear what anyone that mentions God have to say, hence he is close minded and that is a listening barrier.
