A cube has side length x. One side of the cube is increased by 4 inches, and another side is doubled. The volume of the new rect

angular prism is 450 cubic inches. The equation 2x2 + 8x2 = 450 can be used to find x. What was the side length of the original cube?

Let the length of side of cube=x

One side length is increased by 4cm,so the length will be x+4

Another side will be doubled,so new length will be 2x

And the thIrd side will be same as it is.

So the volume of new rectangular prism will be=

x × (x+4) × 2x=450

i.e 2x³+8x²=450

dividing 2 on both sides we will get,

x³+4x²=225

i.e x=5

So original length of cube is 5inch (Answer)

(1.2 x 10-4) + (2.4 x 10-3)
ryzh [129]

Answer:

29

Step-by-step explanation:

(1.2 x 10-4) + (2.4 x 10-3)

Simplify

1.2 x 10- 4 = 8

2.4 x 10- 3 = 21

Add both sums to get 29!

SCIENTIFIC NOTATION

2.9 x 10 to the 1st power

Move the decimal over to make a number less than ten, so that makes 2.9 and 10 to the 1st because you moved the decimal once! Hope this is better

What is the length of the segment with end points -3,4 and 5,4
Luda [366]

Answer:

8

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance or the length between two points can be computed using the formula:

d = \sqrt{(X_2-X_1)^2+(Y_2-Y_1)^2}

X₁ = x-coordinate of first point

X₂ = x-coordinate of the second point

Y₁ = y-coordinate of first point

Y₂ = y-coordinate of the second point

When we right down the coordinates of a point, we always start with the X and then the Y.

(X,Y)

You have the following coordinates or points

Point 1: (-3,4)

Point 2: (5,4)

Based on that we have the following given:

X₁ = -3

X₂ = 5

Y₁ = 4

Y₂ = 4

Now we just fill in the formula:

d=\sqrt{(X_2-X_1)^2+(Y_2-Y_1)^2}\\\\ =\sqrt{(5-(-3))^2+(4-4)^2}\\\\ =\sqrt{8^2 + 0^2}\\\\ =\sqrt{8^2} \\\\=8

What is blank divided by 84.8=10.6
il63 [147K]

To find that out, do the reverse of dividing which is multiplying.

10.6 × 84.8 = 898.88

Check your answer by dividing. So 898.88 divided by 84.8 gives 10.6. So it is correct

So your answer is 898.88
