Isolated, and suicidal, food and water was probably running out. He is planning on killing himself so to not die in shame.

I am not sure if this is accurate I just think this is what went through his head.

Explanation: in hitler's he was hiding from the Allied advance in a bunker, I'd it would be miserable living in a bunker for a few days. But in april 30 1945, Hitler took his own life along with his wife, who he had married the day before
