When glucose levels in the blood increase after eating a meal, the pancreas secretes insulin to lower blood glucose levels back

to normal. When blood glucose levels drop below normal, the pancreas secretes glucagon to increase blood glucose levels back to normal. This hormonal control of blood glucose levels is an example of _____.

Answer:

This hormonal control of blood glucose levels is an examples of negative feedback response.

Explanation:

The blood glucose concentration maintain their concentration through negative feedback mechanisms.Alpha and beta cell present in pancreas. Alpha and beta cell produced insulin and glucagon which act as a antagonistic hormones and control blood glucose level.

Insulin is secreted by beta cell.Beta cell secreted insulin when glucose level increased in the blood.Insulin helps to stimulate liver to absorb glucose.Liver convert glucose to glycogen and adipose cells convert the glucose to the fat.In response, glucose concentration decreases in the blood, and insulin secretion discontinues (through negative feedback from declining levels of glucose)

Glucagon is secreted by alpha cells. when the concentration of blood glucose level drops then alpha cells secrete glucagon into the blood.Glucagon stimulates the liver for release of glucose. When blood glucose levels return to normal then glucagon secretion stopped. Its a negative feedback response.

1. What is the limiting factor for most animal life in the open ocean?
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

Biotic: Food availability

Abiotic: Temperature

Explanation:

There are two types of limiting factors for biodiversity: biotic and abiotic. Biotic refers to living things, for example, organisms that are an important food source. Most animal life forms in the ocean highly depend on the availability of a food source. If food is limited or scarce, the populations of a given species could face significant declines.

On the other hand, there are abiotic factors, which refer to factors that are not alive, such as physical factors. For instance, temperature and light. For marine organisms, temperature is a critical factor. Even an increase of 'only' 1 ºC could make a huge difference in the survival of a species as it could disrupt their ability to forage, hunt, or perform physiological processes, e.g. metabolism.

Therefore, if we refer to a biotic factor, food availability is a limiting factor for most animal life in the open ocean, whereas, if the refer to an abiotic factor, temperature (and light) are limiting factors for pelagic life.

Xelga [282]

Answer: If a mutation occurred in Silencer of Death Domain (SODD) that prohibited its interaction with the DD of TNF receptor, the TNF receptor would evoke its response by binding to a transmembrane receptor, TNFR1.

Explanation: Binding to TNFR1 inhibits the recruitment of cytoplasmic signaling proteins to TNFR1 to prevent recruitment of a number of protein (TRADD) or prevent spontaneous aggregation of the cytoplasmic death domains of TNFR1 molecules.

SODD mechanism is useful in preventing unwarranted TNFR1 activation in the process of apoptosis.

If took 3.5 hours for a train to travel the distance between two cities at a velocity of 120km/h. How far did the train travel b
Andrew [12]
Given:
Time: 3.5 hrs
Velocity: 120 miles/hour
Now Distance= Speed x Time
Now Velocity and Speed have the same magnitude. Velocity being a vector quantity has a definite direction. Where as speed is a scalar quantity, it indicates only the magnitude and doesn’t define any direction.
Hence Distance= Velocity x Time
Distance= 3.5x20=420 miles
