Solution:-

It is given that the points (x,y) be equidistant from the points A(a+b,b-a) and B(a-b,a+b).

PA=PB

Take square both side,

PA^2=PB^2

Now use distance

formula ,

{x-(a+b)}^2+{y-(b-a)}^2={x-(a-b)}^2+{y-(a+b)}^2

=>x^2+(a+b)^2-2x(a+b)+y^2+(b-a)^2-2y(b-a)y=x^2+(a-b)^2-2x(a-b)+y^2+(a+b)^2-2y(a+b)

=>2x(a-b)-2x(a+b)=2y(b-a)-2y(a+b)

=>2x{a-b-a-b}=2y{b-a-a-b}

=>2x(-2b)=2y(-2a)

=>bx=ay

Hence, it is proved.

A biker travels the 120 mi from New York , NY to Wilmington, DE in 8 hours. A bus, a truck, and a rider on a horse take the same
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

First, remember the relation:

Distance = Speed*Time.

We know that the distance is 120mi.

A) For the biker we know that:

Time  = 8hours.

Speed = Distance/Time = 120mi/8h = 15 mi/h.

B) For the bus we know that:

Time = 2 hours.

Speed = Distance/Time = 120mi/2h = 60 mi/h.

C) For the truck we know that:

Time = 2.5 hours.

Speed = Distance/Time = 120mi/2.5h = 48 mi/h.

D) For the rider on a horse we know that:

Time = 18.75 hours.

Speed = Distance/Time = 120mi/18.75h = 6.4 mi/h.

E) The equation for the speed is:

Speed = Distance/Time.

You can see that time is in the denominator, this means that if for a fixed distance, the time increases, then the denominator increases, which would imply that the speed decreases.

Then the speed is inversely proportional to the time when the distance is fixed.

Answer:

substitution is distributive for letters

ie) when we work out for 2x + 5 and 3x -4

we can set = to each other distribute to find x then plug in.

plug in means substitute.

Step-by-step explanation:

transitive is distributive for values for same coefficients in problem solving like Pythagoras a + b = c. but that is not equation checking unless equation replaces it. Answer is substitution for distributive letters.
