Since the slope and the y-intercept for the equation of y = mx + b doesn't exist, you don't need to include it.

y = mx + b

Without the m and b, which are the slope and y-intercept, you are left with x.

Then, you need to figure out whether the line is horizontal, or vertical.

If the line is vertical, you keep the x, and find out the value x is on for every point of y.

If the line is horizontal, you keep the y, and find out the value y is on for every point of x.

Since the line is vertical, we can use x = ?

The line is always at x=2, no matter what the y-value is, so the final equation would be x=2.

Slope (m) - Intercept (b) form is y = mx + b.

What is the slope for graph #4?   \frac{1}{0} = <em>undefined</em>

What is the y-intercept? <em>it doesn't exist since the line never crosses the x-axis</em>

As a result, there will be no "y" in the equation.

Answer: x = 2

<h3>Answer : y = ⅚x - 3</h3>

════════════════════

<h3>Known</h3>

x1 = 6

y1 = 2

x2 = (-6)

y2 = (-8)

════════════════════

<h3>Question</h3>

Equation of the line (y = mx + c)

════════════════════

<h3>Way to do</h3>

#First, you find the gradient (m)

m =  \frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1}  =  \frac{(( - 8) - 2)}{(( - 6) - 6)}  =  \frac{( - 10)}{( - 12)}  =  \frac{5}{6}

#Now use the formula of equation of the line

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 2 = ⅚(x - 6)

y - 2 = ⅚x - 5

y = ⅚x - 5+2

y = ⅚x - 3

Advocard [28]

7,150,000

The population of Georgia is 10,500,000.

The population of Virginia is 30% less than that.

So the population of Virginia is 10,500,000 - 30% which equals 7,150,000

If the first chapter of a certain book is 40 pages long and makes up 20% of the book, how many pages does the entire book have?
Setler [38]

Answer:

200

Step-by-step explanation:

20% of a book = 40 pages

100% of a book = x pages

20/100 = 40/x                Cross multiply

20x = 100*40                 Combine the right

20x = 4000                    Divide by 20

20x/20 = 4000/20         Do the division

x = 200                           Answer
