1.B. NAFTA has established the largest trade zone in the world.

The North American Free Trade Agreement has been in force since 1994. But its continued functioning and benefit have been questioned by current US President, Donald Trump.  In an interview on July 1, 2018, Pres. Trump told a reporter, "NAFTA, I could sign it tomorrow, but I’m not happy with it. I want to make it more fair, okay?"  He added that he wants to wait until after midterm elections in the US in the fall of 2018 before making any decisions about a renegotiated NAFTA deal.

2.B. To promote the foreign policy positions of the United States. 

The trade embargo imposed on Cuba is the longest-lasting embargo in modern history.  It began in 1958 as an embargo on arms sales to Cuba, and in 1960 was expanded to exclude all exports other than food and medicine.  In 1962 was expanded to ban imports from Cuba.  There was an easing of diplomatic relations with Cuba during the Obama presidency and a loosening of travel and business restrictions, but the general embargo remained in effect.  And current president, Donald Trump, has reversed some of the looser policies that Pres. Obama had put in place.

3.D. A decrease in US manufacturing jobs

Under globalization, much manufacturing has shifted to countries where labor can be hired at cheaper rates, thus lowering manufacturer's overall production costs. The United States has been trending toward a more service-oriented economy, with less manufacturing than had been the case in decades past.
