You can't. One side and one angle is never enough to define a unique triangle.

If the side opposite the right angle is 150mm, the other 2 sides could be . . .

-- 75 and 129.9
-- 100 and 111.8
-- 110 and 101.98
-- 120 and 90
-- 130 and 74.83
-- both 106.07

or any one of an infinite number of other possibilities.

You need to know one more side, or one more angle.

Answer: x=17 (if that’s what you mean)

Y= x - 4
5x+y=-34
How would I do this in steps ?
Lostsunrise [7]

Answer:

x = -5 y = -9

Step-by-step explanation:

y = x -4

5x + y = - 34

substitute x-4 in for y to solve for x

5x + x - 4 = 34

solve for x . . . add 5x + x = 6x

so you now have 6x-4 = -34

add 4 to both sides of the equation

6x-4 + 4 = -34+ 4

6x = -30

divide both sides by 6

6x/6 = -30/6

x= -5

then you plug -5 for x in the first equation

y = x - 4

y= -5 -4

y =-9

x= -5 y= -9

One number is 4 for less than a second number. twice the second number is 19 more than three times the first. Find the two numbe
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

first number = x

second number = y

x = y - 4

2y = 3x + 19

substitute x to the second equation

2y = 3(y-4) - 4

2y = 3y -16

-y = -16

y = 16

Go back to first equation

x = y - 4

x = 16 - 4

x = 12
