Atmospheric pressure decreases as altitude increases. In other words, there is more air pushing down on you at sea level, and th

ere is less air pressure pushing down on you when you are on a mountain.If pentane (C5H12), heptane (C7H16), and heptanol (C7H15OH) are heated evenly at different altitudes, rank them according to the order in which you would expect them to begin boiling. Rank from first to last. To rank items as equivalent, overlap them.

Explanation:

It is known that stronger is the bonding between the atoms of a molecule more difficulty it will face to form vapors. Hence, more heat needs to be provided to the molecule. As a result, it will have high boiling point.

So, in heptanol there is hydrogen bonding. Hence, there is strong bonding so, boiling point of heptanol will be high.

On the other hand, heptane has long carbon chain as compared to pentane. Therefore, heptane will occupy more surface area and thus, more heating will be provided to it. Hence, boiling point of heptane will be greater than the boiling point of pentane.

Thus, we can conclude that rank of given compounds according to start of their boiling point is as follows.

                     pentane < heptane < heptanol

Answer:

The equilibrium law

Explanation:

According to the equilibrium law , when $\text{concentration}$ of any of the reactants or the products in the reaction at an equilibrium state, is changed, then it changes the composition of equilibrium mixture in order to minimize the effect of

Acetic acid (in excess) + $\text{alcohol}$ ⇄  $\text{ester}$ + water

$\text{Fischer esterification}$ is a reaction which involves the equilibrium. So to force the reaction towards the side of $\text{ester}$, one of the reactant is taken in excess. All this can be explained easily by applying the equilibrium law.

Julli [10]

Answer:

A. how cholesterol works in the body.

Explanation:

If we know the precise structure of a molecule (by X-ray crystallography), we can understand more about how it interacts with cells, proteins, and other molecules. It can also tell us what reactions it might take part in.

Therefore, we can learn more about how it works in the body and what activities it takes part in in the cells of the body.

Leviafan [203]

1. The resulting concentration will be 0.00044 mol/L

2. The minimum mass of sodium sulfite to add will be 0.4032 grams.

Stoichiometric problems

1. Using m1v1=m2v2

  m1 = 0.01 mol/L, v1 = 20 mL, v2 = 450 mL

       m2 = m1v1/v2 = 0.01 x 20/450 = 0.00044 mol/L

2. Na_2SO_3 + Ca(NO_3)_2 --- > 2NaNO_3 + CaSO_3

Mole ratio of the reactants = 1:1

Mole of 80 mL, 0.0400 mol/L Ca(NO3)2 = 80/1000 x 0.0400 = 0.0032 mol

Equivalent mole of Na2SO3 = 0.0032 moles

Mass of 0.0032 moles Na2SO3 = 0.0032 x 126 = 0.4032 grams

Thus, the minimum mass of sodium sulfite to be added must be 0.4032 grams.

Suppose 13.00 mL of 0.100 M barium hydroxide is required to neutralize 17.00 ml of nitric acid with an unknown concentration. Wh
qwelly [4]
To solve for the concentration of nitric acid in mol/L or also M. We use the equation,
                                          M₁V₁ = M₂V₂
Where M stands for the molarity and V is for volume. Substituting the known values,
                               (0.10 M)(13.0 mL) = (M₂)(17 mL)
                                                 M₂ = 0.076 M
Thus, the concentration of the nitric acid is approximately 0.076 M.
