There are two ways you could calculate slope.

The first is using two points on the line. Plug the coordinates into the formula:

y₁ - y₂ / x₁ - x₂

This is the difference in rise divided by the difference in run, or rise/run. Our marked coordinates are (-2, -3) and (0, 1).

y₁ - y₂ / x₁ - x₂

-3 - 1 / -2 - 0

-4 / -2

2

The second method is much faster: Look at the graph; count the amount of units the graph rises and the amount of units the graph runs, then divide the former number by the latter number (see attachment).

4 / 2 = 2

Answer:

Slope = 2

Is 21.8 x 10 to the power of 8 a scientific notation
Oksanka [162]

Answer:

\large\boxed{2.128\times10^9}

Step-by-step explanation:

The scientific notation:

a\cdot10^k\\\\1\leq a

We have:

21.8\times10^8

21.8 >10

21.8 = 2.18 × 10

Thereofre:

21.8\times10^8=2.18\times10\times10^8

Use

a^n\cdot a^m=a^{n+m}

21.8\times10^8=2.18\times10^1\times10^8=2.18\times10^{1+8}=2.18\times10^9

Oak Street and Elm Street run parallel to each other. When Main Street
kozerog [31]

Answer:

110°

Step-by-step explanation:

The consecutive interior angles theorem states that when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the pair of angles formed which lie inside the parallel lines  on the same side of the transversal are known as consecutive interior angles. This consecutive interior angles are supplementary (that is add up to 180°).

Therefore:

∠4 and ∠6 are consecutive interior angles. Hence:

∠4 + ∠6 = 180° (sum of co-interior angles)

∠4 + 70 = 180

∠4 = 180 - 70

∠4 = 110°

What are the coordinates of the image (-3,-1) after a 90 counterclock wise e about the orgin and then translation 4 units up
katovenus [111]

1. The counterclockwise rotation by 90° about the origin has rule:

(x,y)→(-y,x).

Then

(-3,-1)→(1,-3).

2. Translation 4 units up has rule:

(x,y)→(x,y+4).

Then

(1,-3)→(1,1).

Answer: after composition of transformations the image point has coordinates (1,1).
