1) As a start you have 100% of contaminants: so
 the 1st filtration you removed 70% & remaining 30%
the 2nd filtration you removed 70% of the 30% (=21%) & remaining (30%-21%)
 or 9%
the 3rd filtration removed 70% of the 9% (=6.30%) & remaining (9%-6.3%)
 or 2.7%
the 4th filtration removed 70% of the 2.7% (1.89%) & remaining (2.7%-1.89%)
 or 0.81%
Follow the same logic for all remaining question.

Rain falls steadily all day, dropping 2 inches of rain each hour. what does the graph look like
Irina-Kira [14]
think of it like this, after 1 hour there is 2 inches of rain, after 2 hours there is 4 inches of rain, and after 10, there should be 20, so, as it runs 1 it should rise 2.

When x = 3 and y = 5, by how much does the value of 3x2 – 2y exceed the value of 2x2 – 3y ?
Kamila [148]
Plug in the values.

3x^2-2y

3*3^2-2(5)
3*9-10
27-10
17

Next one.

2x^2-3y

2*3^2-3(5)
2*9-15
18-15
3

17-3= 15

The value of 3x^2-2y exceeds 2x^2-3y by 15.

I hope this helps!
