X = 4

-2x - 4 + 5x = 8

Add up the X’s: 3x - 4 = 8

Isolate the X’s, Transfer -4 to the other side of the equal sign, while also flipping the sign (negative & positive): 3x = 8 + 4

Add up the 8 & 4: 3x = 12

Divide each side by 3: 3x/3 = 12/3

Final Answer: x = 4

I recommend using Photomath as it scans math problems, solves them, and shows you how it is done. It’s quite helpful.

V = \pi \pir^{2}h

1. Find the radius.

8/2 = 4

2. Square the radius.

4^{2} = 16

3. Multiply that by pi.

3.14 * 16 = 50.24

4. Multiply that by the height.

50.24 * 20 = 1004.8

5. Now find 60% of that.

1004.8 * 0.6 = 602.88

V = 602.88 m^{3}

Honestly, it's been a while since I've done this, but I believe this is the answer.

11. The formula for finding a number that's the square root of the sum of another number n and 6 is
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

x = \sqrt{x+6}

Step-by-step explanation:

The question states that it is the square root of the sum of both n and 6. That means n and 6 are added first before square rooted. Between B and C, choose the answer that has the parenthesis around x and 6, like (x + 6).

Solve for the values of x in the equation:
2^(x) = 4x.
Eva8 [605]

There are two of them.

I don't know a mechanical way to 'solve' for them.

One can be found by trial and error:

x=0 . . . . . 2^0 = 1 . . . . . 4(0) = 0 . . . . . no, that doesn't work
x=1 . . . . . 2^1 = 2 . . . . . 4(1) = 4 . . . . . no, that doesn't work
x=2 . . . . . 2^2 = 4 . . . . . 4(2) = 8 . . . . . no, that doesn't work
x=3 . . . . . 2^3 = 8 . . . . . 4(3) = 12 . . . . no, that doesn't work
x=4 . . . . . 2^4 = 16 . . . . 4(4) = 16 . . . . Yes !  That works !       yay !

For the other one, I constructed tables of values for 2^x and (4x)
in a spread sheet, then graphed them, and looked for the point
where the graphs of the two expressions cross.

The point is near, but not exactly, x = 0.30990693...

If there's a way to find an analytical expression for the value, it must involve
some esoteric kind of math operations that I didn't learn in high school or
engineering school, and which has thus far eluded me during my lengthy
residency in the college of hard knocks. If anybody out there has it, I'm
waiting with all ears.
