At 11,560 feet above sea level, Climax, Colorado is the highest in the US. The lowest town is Calipatria, Ca. at 185 ft below se

a level. Express both of these distances as integers and tell which is closer to sea level. How much closer to sea level is the town that is closer?

Answer:

Climax, the highest  in the US at above sea level= 11,560 feet

It can be represented in an integer form as:

+ 11650 feet

Climax, the highest  in the US at above sea level=  +11,560 feet

Calipatria, the lowest town at below sea level= 185 ft

It can be represented as - 185 feet

So, by comparing the distance from the sea level, since distance cant be negative

Calipatria is more closer to sea level than climax, Colorado

The difference between the level of both from sea level= 11560- 185= 11375 feet

Hence, Calipatria is more closer to sea level by 11375 feet.

Above sea level is obviously positive, and below sea level is negative. so climax is +11560, and calipatria is -185. 185 is closer to 0 than 11560 ,so cali is closer. to find how much, subtract the two. 11560 - 185 is the third answer

1/8 + 6/8 = 7/8
17 11/13 - 9 7/13 = 8 4/13
2/8 + 4/8 = 6/8 = 3/4
8/4 + 1/4 = 9/4 = 2 1/4
9/10 + 3/10 = 12/10 = 1 1/5
2 - 3/5 = 10/5 - 3/5 = 7/5 = 1 2/5
3/4 * 4 = 12/4 = 3
1/4 * 6 = 6/4 = 1 1/2

Pls help me ............
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

7

Step-by-step explanation:

2v ÷ e + 3

we want to find the value of the expression when v = 10 and e = 5

to do so we substitute the values into the expression

2v ÷ e + 3

==> substitute 10 for v and 5 for e

2(10) ÷ 5 + 3

We now evaluate using bpemdas

==> multiply 2 and 10

20 ÷ 5 + 3

==> divide 20 by 5

4 + 3

==> add 4 and 3

= 7

If the probability of selecting, without replacement, 2 red marbles from a bag containing only red and blue marbles is 3 55 and
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let T = the TOTAL number of marbles in the bag.

We are told that 3 of those marbles are red

P(select a red marble first) = 3/T

Once we've removed the first red marble, there are T-1 marbles remaining and 2 of them are red

So, P(select a red marble second) = 2/(T-1)

Okay, now let's use probability rules to answer the question....

P(select 2 red marbles) = P(select a red marble first AND select a red marble second)

= P(select a red marble first) x P(select a red marble second)

= 3/T x 2/(T-1)

= 6/(T² - T)

We're told that P(select 2 red marbles) = 3/55

So, we can write: 6/(T² - T) = 3/55

Cross multiply to get: 3(T² - T) = (6)(55)

Divide both sides by 3 to get: T² - T = (2)(55)

Evaluate: T² - T = 110

Rearrange: T² - T - 110 = 0

Factor: (T - 11)(T + 10) = 0

So, EITHER T = 11 OR T = -10

Since T cannot be negative, it must be the case that T = 11
