We know that the area of circle is A(circle)=(pie)r^2
and when the minute hand of a wall clock move for 30mn, we get a semicircle, yeild A(semicircle)=(pie)r^2(1/2). substitute all the known values we get, A(semicircle)= 307.72 cm^2

In 30 minutes the minute hand makes half a turn around the clock, so it sweeps half a circle.

Given the radius r, the area of a circle is A = \pi r^2

In this case, we're interested in half the area of a circle with radius 14cm, so we have

A^* = \dfrac{\pi \cdot 14^2}{2} = \dfrac{196\pi}{2} = 98\pi cm squared.

<h3>Answer:   y = 9</h3>

====================================================

Explanation:

Locate 12 on the horizontal x axis number line.

Then move straight up until reaching the parabola.

Afterward, move to the left to arrive at y = 9 on the vertical y axis.

We predict the y value will be y = 9 for the input of x = 12.

Refer to the diagram below to see what's going on.

9400 dollars is placed in an account with an annual interest rate of 6.25%. To the nearest tenth of a year, how long will it tak
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

t=64.2\ years

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The simple interest formula is equal to

A=P(1+rt)

where

A is the Final Investment Value

P is the Principal amount of money to be invested

r is the rate of interest

t is Number of Time Periods

in this problem we have

t=?\ years\\ P=\$9,400\\ A=\$47,100\\r=6.25\%=6.25/100=0.0625

substitute in the formula above

47,100=9,400(1+0.0625t)

solve for t

t=[(47,100/9,400)-1]\0.0625

t=64.2\ years

A circle has a radius of 8cm. What is the AREA? Use this formula - A = pi X radius squared.
Studentka2010 [4]

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>The formula for the area of a circle:</u> A=\pi r^{2}

<u />

<u>Given:</u>

  • Radius = 8 cm

<u />

<u>Substitute 8 for r (radius):</u>

<u />A=\pi 8^{2}

<u>Solve:</u>

<u />A=\pi (64)

A=64\pi or 201.062 cm^{2} rounded.
