We know that the area of circle is A(circle)=(pie)r^2
and when the minute hand of a wall clock move for 30mn, we get a semicircle, yeild A(semicircle)=(pie)r^2(1/2). substitute all the known values we get, A(semicircle)= 307.72 cm^2

In 30 minutes the minute hand makes half a turn around the clock, so it sweeps half a circle.

Given the radius r, the area of a circle is A = \pi r^2

In this case, we're interested in half the area of a circle with radius 14cm, so we have

A^* = \dfrac{\pi \cdot 14^2}{2} = \dfrac{196\pi}{2} = 98\pi cm squared.

Gwar [14]

Answer:

22.8 m/s at 17.4°

Step-by-step explanation:

Horizontal component:

vₓ = 3 + 20 cos 20° = 21.8

Vertical component:

vᵧ = 0 + 20 sin 20° = 6.84

Magnitude:

v² = vₓ² + vᵧ²

v² = (21.8)² + (6.84)²

v = 22.8 m/s

Direction:

θ = atan(vᵧ / vₓ)

θ = atan(6.84 / 21.8)

θ = 17.4°

Answer:

1) 4

2) y <= 9

3) NO SOLUTION

4) 24

5) 5 cards

Step-by-step explanation:

1st pic) 2x + 7 = 15

2x + 7 = 15

       -7    -7

2x = 8

divide by 2 to isolate x

x = 4

2nd pic) y - 3 <= 6

y - 3 <= 6

   +3      +3

y <= 9

3rd pic) x + 0.5 = x + 6

x + 0.5 = x + 6

    -0.5         -0.5

x = x + 5.5

NO SOLUTION

4th pic)  5m + 10 <= 130

5m + 10 <= 130

       -10        -10

5m <= 120

divide by 5 to isolate the m

m <= 24

5th pic) 2c - 8 > 0

2c - 8 > 0

      +8   +8

2c > 8

divide by 2 to isolate the c

c > 4

Which statement about Earth's rotation and its revolution is correct?
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

It takes Earth longer revolve around the Sun than to rotate on its axis.

explanation:

  • Rotation is spinning of the Earth around its own axis
  • The Earth takes 24 hours to complete a rotation.
  • Revolution is movement of the Earth around the Sun.
  • The Earth takes a full year or 365 days for one complete revolution around the Sun
  • Hence Earth takes longer to revolve around the sun than to rotate on its axis.
  • Moon takes the same time to revolve around the Earth and rotate around itself.

The equation for a circle is x2−8x+y2−2y−8=0 .
sdas [7]

You can analyze it in this way:

1)(2) in y2-2y can show that was (y-1)^2 so we add -1 to -8 => -9

2)(8) in x2-8x show us that was (x-4)^2 so we add -16 to -9 => -25

and finally we have:(x-4)^2 + (y-1)^2 =25

it means C is true!
