The lost generation was a generation of artist that made their works after world war 1. They were called so because they felt disillusioned and depressed about the state of the world so they made art about it. Most of them were American, but there were some British people like T.S. Elliot who migrated to England.

While the verified answer is correct, if you are asking from Plato then the best answer as stated in the lesson as well is 'the deaths of young soldiers who might have become skilled professionals had they survived." They are referred as the lost generation because most of them died due to the war and never got a chance to grow up and achieve their true goals. They died before they could go to college, start a career, and have a family. Therefor the "Lost Generation."

Romashka [77]

Orwell use evidence to support the underlined claim "he quotes a pamphlet that uses unoriginal language." (Option B)

What is a Claim?

A claim in literature refers to the position that speaker or a writer takes on a particular subject.

An example of a claim is:
"Smokers are indeed liable to die young."

Claims are said to be very good when they are buttressed using factual evidence or statistics, rather than reflective evidence.
