To solve equations with variables on both sides, you must make the alike variables on one side, and the numbers on the other side. You do this by adding, subtracting multiplying, and dividing. Here are the steps to solve your problem:

x - 2 = -3x + 2   -- Add 2 to both sides

x = -3x + 4        -- Add 3x to both sides

4x = 4               -- Divide by 4

x = 1

Your answer is x = 1

Hope this answer has answered your question! Thanks for posting! :)

Well you would add 3x to x so then you'd have 4x-2=2 then add two so then you'd get 4x=4 then divide by 4 so x=1

USPshnik [31]

Answer:

The volume is 105/512 cubic inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Given [Missing from the question]

L = \frac{3}{8} cm -- Length

W=\frac{5}{8}cm -- Width

H = \frac{7}{8}cm -- Height

Required

Determine the volume.

The volume (V) is calculated as thus:

V = L *W *H

V = \frac{3}{8} cm* \frac{5}{8}cm * \frac{7}{8}cm

V = \frac{3}{8} * \frac{5}{8} * \frac{7}{8}cm^3

V = \frac{3*5*7}{8*8*8}cm^3

V = \frac{105}{512}cm^3

At a certain gas station, 40% of the customers use regular gas (A1), 35% use plus gas (A2), and 25% use premium (A3). Of those c
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

a.)

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₂) × P(A₂)

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.40 × 0.35

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.14

b.)

P(B) = P( A₁ ∩ B )  + P( A₂ ∩ B ) + P( A₃ ∩ B )

P(B) = 0.08 + 0.14 + 0.125

P(B) = 0.345

c.)

For regular gas:

P(A₁ | B) = P( A₁ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₁ | B) = 0.08 / 0.345

P(A₁ | B) = 0.232

For plus gas:

P(A₂ | B) = P( A₂ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₂ | B) = 0.14 / 0.345

P(A₂ | B) = 0.406

For premium gas:

P(A₃ | B) = P( A₃ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₃ | B) = 0.125 / 0.345

P(A₃ | B) = 0.362

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information

40% of the customers use regular gas (A2)

P(A₁) = 0.40

35% use plus gas (A2)

P(A₂) = 0.35

25% use premium (A3)

P(A₃) = 0.25

Of those customers using regular gas, only 20% fill their tanks (event B).

P(B | A₁) = 0.20

Of those customers using plus, 40% fill their tanks

P(B | A₂) = 0.40

Whereas of those using premium, 50% fill their tanks.

P(B | A₃) = 0.5

a) What is the probability that the next customer will request plus gas and fill their tank?

We are asked to find P(A₂ ∩ B) = ?

Recall that Multiplicative law of probability is given by

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₂) × P(A₂)

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.40 × 0.35

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.14

b) What is the probability that the next customer fills the tank?

We are asked to find P(B) = ?

P(B) = P( A₁ ∩ B )  + P( A₂ ∩ B ) + P( A₃ ∩ B )

P( A₂ ∩ B ) is already calculated, we need to calculate

P( A₁ ∩ B ) and P( A₃ ∩ B )

So,

P( A₁ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₁) × P(A₁)

P( A₁ ∩ B ) = 0.20 × 0.40

P( A₁ ∩ B ) = 0.08

P( A₃ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₃) × P(A₃)

P( A₃ ∩ B ) = 0.50 × 0.25

P( A₃ ∩ B ) = 0.125

Finally,

P(B) = P( A₁ ∩ B )  + P( A₂ ∩ B ) + P( A₃ ∩ B )

P(B) = 0.08 + 0.14 + 0.125

P(B) = 0.345

c) If the next customer fills the tank, what is the probability that the regular gas is requested? Plus? Premium

For regular gas:

P(A₁ | B) = P( A₁ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₁ | B) = 0.08 / 0.345

P(A₁ | B) = 0.232

For plus gas:

P(A₂ | B) = P( A₂ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₂ | B) = 0.14 / 0.345

P(A₂ | B) = 0.406

For premium gas:

P(A₃ | B) = P( A₃ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₃ | B) = 0.125 / 0.345

P(A₃ | B) = 0.362

Maria is ordering copy paper for her office. The office is low on white paper and on blue paper. She will play 3.50 per ream of
m_a_m_a [10]
So we know that the decimal place will move one right. Well basically let's assume she could have bought these expressions:

x 10 x 3.50 = 35.00
x 9 x 3.50 = 31.50 + 3.75 = 35.25
x 8 x 3.5 = 28 + 3.75 x 2 = 35.5
x 7 x 3.5 = 24.5 + 3.75 x 35.75

We know that there is a pattern. See how the cents goes .25 up each time. So we know she'd buy 6 reams of white because (6 x 3.5 = 21) + (4 x 3.75 = 15) = 36.
