Outlaws tended to seek refuge in Indian Territory because "a. The Territory was not under U.S. law" although this is not entirely true because although many Indians did not feel the need to operate under US law, many US officials believed they should.

F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway accomplishment
bonufazy [111]

F. Scott Fitzgerald was a 20th-century American short-story writer and novelist. Although he completed four novels and more than 150 short stories in his lifetime, he is perhaps best remembered for his third novel, The Great Gatsby (1925). The Great Gatsby is today widely considered “the great American novel.”

Ernest Hemingway was renowned for novels like The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and The Old Man and the Sea, which won the 1953 Pulitzer. In 1954, Hemingway won the Nobel Prize. He committed suicide on July 2, 1961, in Ketchum, Idaho.
