So on average, the car did 40 km or 6 hours, so if it travels at that speed for 6 hours, that means it covers 40 kilometers on every passing hour, that makes it 40 * 6 or 240 kilometers total, that's the whole length of the journey.

on the first hour it was going 35 kmh, since it went on for only 1 hour, it did then 35 kilometers.

for the next two hours it went at 45 kmh, so in 1 hour it did 45 km and on the next it did another 45 km, so on those two hours it covered a total of 90 kilometers.

now, for the 1hr and the 2hr, namely for the first 3 hours the car, has already covered 35 + 90 kilometers of the grand total of 240 kilometers of the journey.  What's leftover is then 240 - 125, or 115 kilometers for the next 3 hours, since the journey was 6 hours total.

on average the last 3 hours then, will be 115/3 kmh.

What do you want to find out? > The rate at which Bill puts shringles on a rood. What do you know? > Bill and Chip each fi
denis23 [38]

Answer:

  (a) b = (4/7)c

  (b) Bill: 40 shingles/hour; Chip: 70 shingles/hour

Step-by-step explanation:

Let b and c represent Bill's and Chip's rates in shingles per hour, respectively. Then we have ...

  7b = 4c

  c - b = 30 . . . . shingles per hour difference in rates

(a) Bill's rate in terms of Chip's rate can be found by dividing the first equation by 7

  b = (4/7)c . . . . . Bill's rate is 4/7 of Chip's rate

__

(b) To find the rates, we can multiply the second equation by 7 and substitute using the first equation:

  7c -7b = 210

  7c -4c = 210

  c = 210/3 = 70

  b = (4/7)(70) = 40

Bill's rate is 40 shingles per hour; Chip's rate is 70 shingles per hour.

A number is 42300 when multiplied by ten find the product of this number and 500
4vir4ik [10]
42300 / 10 = 4230
4230 * 500 = 2115000
a number multiplied by ten equals to 42300, so 10a = 42300, then a = 4230, then you multiply 4230 and 500 together, which gives you 2115000
