How does President Kennedy justify space travel in the face of all the hazards involved? He believes that conquering space will

be great achievement for the United States. He believes that it will be similar to sailing to unknown islands. He sees it as a challenge worth taking, as it will promote peaceful cooperation amongst nations. Kennedy wants it to become a test of human abilities and endurance.
