Rectus abdominis muscle is also known as abs, lies ventrally on the anterior side of abdomen. The two parallel muscles are lined by linea alba in the rectus abdominis muscles.
The rectus abdominis maintains the neutral pelvic position by exerting an upward pull on inferior surface and on the anterior side. The attachments of rectus abdominis are pubic symphysis and pubic crest.
