Economic factors influenced political developments in the annexation of Hawaii because American planters in Hawaii pushed for annexation so that the sugar trade could be opened to markets in the U.S. Many American sailors and settlers were drawn to Hawaii's tropical islands. Some of the descendants started sugar plantations and traded with the U.S. The Queen was alarmed by the settlers power and in response they seized power asking the U.S. to annex Hawaii.

What was the united states weakness in the cold war?
Brut [27]

Throughout the Cold War the United States of America saw economic prosperity and a dramatic improvement in its standards of living. This gave the US a huge degree of power in the international arena, but to what degree did this power help it to claim victory in the Cold War? This essay will weigh up the ways in which the economic supremacy of the US led to their victory in the Cold War against the ways in which its foreign policy may have helped. These views will then be criticised and evaluated to conclude that each was important in different ways due to it being the economic power that enabled the US to pursue financially intensive foreign policies such as the arms race and enabled it to negotiate from a position of strength with the USSR in the 1980s.

Under what circumstances would the protest of the students in tinker v. Des moines be deemed unprotected speech
dolphi86 [110]

The public school students' silent protest, by using symbols, in the form of armbands, during school time, cost the students a suspension, because it was considered a violation of a school rule. After the case had been judged by the Supreme Court, they finally won the case. But the outcome could be different, if their protest used "indecent speech" or promoted illegal drug use.
