Max makes $3000 a month. He puts 15% in savings each month. After a year how much would he have in savings?
cricket20 [7]
The answer would be 5,400 ( 3000 times 0.15 would be 450 then, 450 times 12 is 5,400.)

According to a 2010 study conducted by the Toronto-based social media analytics firm Sysomos, 71% of all tweets get no reaction.
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

Expected Number=71

Variance =4959

Standard Deviation= 70.42

Step-by-step explanation:

Expected Number = E (x) = np

Here p = 0.71 and q= 1- 0.71= 0.29 n= 100

Expected Number = E (x) = np = 0.71*100= 71

b) The Variance and Standard Deviation for the number of these tweets with no reaction

Suppose the number of tweets are hundred then the number of tweets with no reaction would be 71 .

Variance = E(x²) - [E(x)]² =  (100)²- (71)²= 10000- 5041= 4959

Standard Deviation= √4959= 70.42

Please help. and please explain the process too
denis-greek [22]
The polynomial as per the given of the problem is f(x)=3x²-21x+30
Find the roots of this polynomial:
 x₁=[-b+√b²-4ac)]/2a and x₂ =[-b-√b²-4ac)]/2a
Plug in : x₁ = [21+√(21²-4(3)(30)]/6 = [21+√81}/6 ; x₁ = 5
and x₂ = [21-√(21²-4(3)(30)]/6 = [21-√81]/6 ; x₂ = 2
 Remark: I don't understand where did you bring √5 , it should be 5

Shania and Pedro are discussing whether it is always possible to solve a right triangle, given enough information, without using
Makovka662 [10]

Answer: Shania is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

For a right angled triangle, given two sides and an angle, we can use the sine rule or the various trigonometry identities to solve the triangle;

a/sin A = b/sinB

and

sin (angle) = opposite side/hypotenuse

cos (angle) = adjacent side/hypotenuse

tan (angle) = opposite/ adjacent

assuming a is the opposite side of angle A and b is also opposite of angle B

Otherwise, the only way to solve a triangle given two sides only is by the use of the Pythagoras theorem.

Hence, Shania is correct.

What is the rule for calculating |x| for any value of x?
padilas [110]
Anything with || around it is a whole value. It’s always a positive. For example, |-56|=56. Now, if the negative was on the outside, it would be a negative like so; -|10| =-10
