Answer:

<em>Hence, Diego was wrong with his calculations. The difference of </em><em>both are not equal to \dfrac{9}{10}.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

No, Diego is not correct.

He went wrong in his calculations.

since,

the difference of \dfrac{1}{10} and  \dfrac{1}{10} is 0 (As both the numbers are same so their difference will be zero)

but the difference of \dfrac{100}{100} and \dfrac{10}{100} is solved as:

As \dfrac{100}{100}=1

and \dfrac{10}{100}=\dfrac{1}{10}

and now the difference is:  1-\dfrac{1}{10}=\dfrac{10-1}{10}=\dfrac{9}{10}

Hence the difference for both the operations is not same.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the points J (1,-10) and K (7, 2)

From the section formula

(x,y)=\left(\dfrac{mx_2+nx_1}{m+n}, \dfrac{my_2+ny_1}{m+n}\right)

The y-coordinates of the point that divides the directed line segment from J to K into a ratio of 5:1 is obtained using the formula:

y=\dfrac{my_2+ny_1}{m+n}\\m=5, n=1, y_1=-10, y_2=2\\Therefore:\\y=\dfrac{5*2+1*-10}{5+1}\\=\dfrac{10-10}{6}\\=0

The y-coordinates of the point that divides the directed line segment from J to K into a ratio of 5:1 is 0.

Find the value of x and y
Naddik [55]
Just a guess, but the angle inside the triangle that's not x or y is the remaining angle after subtracting the 30 degrees shown.  That makes the non labeled angle inside the triangle 150 degrees.  since all triangles are 180 degrees, this means x and y add up to 30.  They look roughly the same, so i'd guess they're both 15 degrees.
