Well it meant the right to do the things you wanted.

Explanation:

Like no discrimantion and the freedom to be your own person. Not barred from anything if you could afford it. And a right to do anything you want if it was legal. But during the Industrial age travel was all everyone really  wanted to do so one of the big things was a freedom to travel.

The controls and tactics of the slaves were less severe than that of the South, though there were slaves who played key roles in the eve of the revolution at different parts of America.
