Let x = width
x+12 = length

Perimeter of a rectangle, P = 2x+2(x+12) = 64
2x+2x+24=64
4x = 40
x=10
x+12 = 22

therefore, length is 22 in.

How to solve 2/3:x::4.5:2 and 2/3%:1/5::50:x
solong [7]

A) x = 0.296

B) x= 15

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

(2/3) : x :: 4.5 :2

By using expansion method,

(2/3) × 2 = 4.5 x

 x= (2/3) × 2 / 4.5

x = 0.296

Step 2:

(2/3) : (1/5) :: 50 :x

By using expansion method,

(2/3) x = (1/5) × 50

 x= (1/5) × 50 / (2/3)

x = 15
