From the first urn, since there are 10 balls and 4 of which are red then, the update in the expanssion.

                   P1 = 4/6 = 2/3

In the second urn, the probability of picking white is 7/15.
                         Pf = (2/3)(7/15) = 21/81

Answer:

Option A is the correct answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability is the ratio of number of favorable outcome to total number of outcomes,

Urn I contains 6 green balls and 4 red balls and Urn II contains 8 green balls and 7 red balls.

\texttt{Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 1= }\frac{\texttt{Number of red balls in Urn 1}}{\texttt{Number of balls in Urn 1}}\\\\\texttt{Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 1= }\frac{4}{4+6}=\frac{4}{10}\\\\\texttt{Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 1= }\frac{2}{5}

Urn II contains 8 green balls and 7 red balls.

\texttt{Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 2= }\frac{\texttt{Number of red balls in Urn 2}}{\texttt{Number of balls in Urn 2}}\\\\\texttt{Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 2= }\frac{7}{8+7}=\frac{7}{15}\\\\\texttt{Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 2= }\frac{7}{15}

Probability that both balls are red if a ball is drawn from each urn = Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 1 x Probability of drawing red ball from Urn 2

\texttt{Probability that both balls are red if a ball is drawn from each urn = }\frac{2}{5}\times \frac{7}{15}\\\\\texttt{Probability that both balls are red if a ball is drawn from each urn = }\frac{14}{75}

Option A is the correct answer.

A survey showed that 35% of the students prefer plain white milk over chocolate milk. If the school has 1200 students. How many
vodomira [7]

Answer:

The number of students who prefer chocolate milk is 780 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The total number of students in the school = 1200

The percentage of students who prefer plain white milk = 35 %

Let the number of students who prefer chocolate milk = x

Now, ∵ The percentage of students who prefer plain white milk = 35 %

∴ The percentage of students who prefer chocolate milk = 100 % - 35 % = 65%

So , As The number of  students who prefer chocolate milk = x

Or, 65 % of total number of students in school = x

So, x = \frac{65}{100} × 1200

or, x = \frac{65\times 1200 }{100}

∴  x = 780

So, the number of students who prefer chocolate milk = x = 780

And  students who prefer plain white milk = 1200 - x = 1200 - 780 = 420

Hence, The number of students who prefer chocolate milk is 780 . Answer

Manny can assemble a computer by himself in 50 minutes. Lucy does the same job in 45 minutes. How long will it take to assemble
jonny [76]
Manny can assemble a computer in 50 minutes. That means, in a minute Manny does \frac{1}{50} job.

Lucy can assemble a computer in 45 minutes. That means, in a minute Lucy does \frac{1}{45} job.

If they are working together, in a minute they will do:
\dfrac{1}{50} + \dfrac{1}{45}
= \dfrac{9}{450} + \dfrac{10}{450} \text{(equalize the denominator)}
=\dfrac{19}{450}
In a minute they will do \frac{19}{450} job

To finish the job they will do it in \frac{450}{19} minutes or about 24 minutes.
