The correct statements are:

  • It entered into an alliance with Germany and Italy.
  • It occupied French Indochina.
  • It invaded China to gain control.

The Empire of Japan entered the Second World War by launching a surprise offensive that began with the attack on Pearl Harbor at 7:48 a.m. Hawaiian time (18:18 GMT) on December 7, 1941. Within seven hours there were coordinated Japanese attacks against the Philippines, Guam and Wake Island, then controlled by the United States, in addition to other attacks on the Empire. British in Malaya, Singapore and Hong Kong. The strategic objectives of the offensive were to paralyze the US fleet in the Pacific, capture oil fields in the Dutch East Indies and expand the boundaries of the Japanese Empire to create a formidable defensive perimeter around the newly acquired territory.

The Imperial Japanese Navy made its surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii Territory, on Sunday, December 7, 1941 in the morning. The Pacific Fleet of the United States Navy and its defenders Air Forces of the Army and Air Forces of the Navy suffered significant losses. The main objective of the attack was to incapacitate the United States long enough for Japan to establish its long-planned Southeast Asian empire and defensible buffer zones. However, as Admiral Yamamoto feared, the attack caused little lasting damage to the United States Navy, with priority objectives such as the carriers of the Pacific Fleet at sea, and the vital coastal installations, whose destruction could have paralyzed the fleet alone, were ignored. The Americans saw the attack as a treacherous act and united against the Empire of Japan. The United States entered the European Theater and the Pacific War with full force. Four days later, Adolf Hitler, of Germany, and Benito Mussolini, of Italy, declared war on the United States, merging the conflicts, but at the same time being separated. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese launched offensives against Allied forces in East Asia and Southeast Asia, with simultaneous attacks against Hong Kong, British Malaysia and the Philippines.

Why is the Battle of Alamo important? And what was the outcome of that Battle?
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

The Battle of Alamo is quite important because it's part of US history, especially for Texas; the outcome of the battle was a loss against the Mexican forces.

Explanation:

The battle of Alamo went on for about 13 days, with gruesome fighting, within the battle were the Mexican forces, and Texan defenders, as well as a legendary frontiersman Davy Crockett. Most of the Texan defenders died along with their frontiersman. The battle was condemned because Texas was fighting for their independence from Mexico. So because of the loss and many deaths, the Battle of Alamo is respected and honored to the ones who died in action.

Who were the ostrogoths and visogoths?
Assoli18 [71]

Ostrogoths originated from a Germanic people called the Goth. The 6th century historian, Jordanes, says that the Goths emerged from the southern Scandinavian regions, were distinguished from other peoples for using short swords, round shields and for being extremely faithful to their superiors.

In the beginning, the Goths maintained a unity, but over time they ended up dividing into two parts. One of them was named as the Visigoths, who were the Goths from the West and the other was the Ostrogoths, who were from the East.

The incident that ended up separating the Visigoths from the Ostrogoths was the Hun invasions in the vicinity of the Black Sea, on the borders of the Roman Empire. Before that, the two peoples were ruled by King Hermenerico. However, with the Hun invasions, Hermenerico ended up committing su/cide and was succeeded by two kings: Vitimiro and Fritigerno. The first led the ranks of the Ostrogoths and the second ruled the Visigoths.

The height of the Ostrogoth people occurred in the 3rd century, when they formed a great empire in the northern Black Sea region. From the 5th century, the Ostrogoth kingdom began to decline after a series of conflicts with the Huns and the Byzantine Empire. With the wars and several deaths, the ostrogoths lost their cohesion and ended up being eliminated.
