With the information given we can wirte down 2 different equations where:
x = How many Fictoon books there are
A nd y = How many non-fiction books there are :
#1) x + y = 312
( The total of the books is 312 )

#2) x = 11y
(He has 11 times as many firction books as he has non-ficton books)

Now what we need to do is to isolate one the variables ( x or y ) , get its value and apply to one the equations to get the other variable's value:
We can do that by the property of substitution:

If x = 11y
then x + y = (11y) + y = 12y

If x + y = 312
and x + y = 12y
then 12y = 312

Now with the equation 12y = 312 , we can isolate y by dividing both sides of the equation by 12 :
12/12y = 312/12
y = 26
What that means : Mark has 26 non-fictional books.

Now that we have the value of y , we can find the value of x by plugging y to one of the equations :

x + y = 312
or
x = 7y
( I will do both , but you dont need to )

x + y = 312
Plugin 26 for y :
x + 26 = 312

Shift 26 to the other side of the equation by subtracting both sides of the equation by 26:
x + 26 - 26 = 312 - 26
26 - 26 cancel out , so we end up with :
x = 286

Second Equation :
x = 11y
Plugin 26 for y:
x = 11 × 26

x = 286

Awnser : Mark has 286 fictoon books and 26 non-fiction !

I hope you understood my brief explanation. And please consider marking this awnser as Branliest. Thank you ! :)

klemol [59]

Answer:

p=1.2

Step-by-step explanation:

Additive inverse of any number means a number which can be added to the original number to get

Two numbers are said to be additive inverse of each other if sum of both numbers is 0. For example if 5 is the given number then -5 will be it's additive inverse. So to find additive inverse, we basically change the sign of number.

Given number p is additive inverse off -1.2 so p must be 1.2.

Sum will obviously be 0.

So to graph them on number line, we make a point at -1.2, 1.2 and at 0 for their sum.

Theres 30 kilograms of 10% apple juice. How many kilograms of apples does it need to increase the current apple juice to 25%?
raketka [301]

The mass of the apple juice needed to increase the initial concentration to 25% is 45 kg

The given parameters;

 • Mass of the apple juice, m = 30 kg
 • current percentage, = 10%
 • final percent after increment = 25%

Let the mass added to increase the percentage to 30% = x

10% ----------------- 30 kg

25% ------------------ ?

= \frac{25 \times 30}{10} \\\\= 75 \ kg

The additional mass is calculated as;

x+ 30 = 75\\\\x = 75 - 30\\\\x = 45 \ kg

Thus, the mass of the apple juice needed to increase the initial concentration to 25% is 45 kg.

A car uses a litre of petrol to travel 4km. How many litres will it use to travel 32 kilometres.
lesya [120]

Given that,

A car uses a litre of petrol to travel 4 km.

To find,

How many litres will it use to travel 32 kilometres.

Solution,

We have,

1 litre = 4 km

or

1 km = (1/4) litre

Let it will use x litres to travel 32 km.

32 km = (32/4) litres

= 8 litres

Hence, 8 litres it will use to travel 32 km.
