Answer:

C. 100

Explanation:

Pelagic zone is what we call one of the possible subdivisions of the seas and oceans. This classification occurs horizontally and is located below the tide level. The pelagic environment is located below the level of the tides, with about 200 meters of depth, however, this environment reaches much more significant depths, being verified a depth of at least 4000 meters. This entire space was divided according to its length and characteristics. One of these divisions is called the epipelagic zone which is 200 meters deep and is the only area considered part of the photic zone and has high nutrient productivity.

It is believed that there is 100 times more pressure on organisms at levels just below the epipelagic zone than on shallow reefs.

Why did Darwin see savage competition as a creative process?
tekilochka [14]

Answer: According to Darwin theory of evolution the struggle for existence is considered as major part for competition among living things.

Explanation:

Coexisting species that belong to the same genera compete for same kind of resources for their survival. Some phenotypic variations gives an survival advantage over others. The superior ones dominate the inferior ones and compete for resources. The one who receives the resources like mates, food, shelter, and others the chances of survival also increases considerably.

Monocots and dicots are two groups of _____.
Step2247 [10]
I believe the correct answer is the second option. Monocots and dicots are two groups of angiosperms. This group of plants are seed bearing plants. Flowers are their reproductive system where the ovules are being enclosed in the ovary. Angiosperms can be found in every habitat from grasslands and forests to deserts and sea margins. Angiospersms are divided to monocots and dicots. Monocot plants are characterized by having one cotyledon while dicots have two. Also, leaf veins of monocots are branched while that of dicots are parallel. The root system of monocots is a fibrous root system while dicots have a taproot system.

A swimmer sprints a short distance for a competition. The swimmer is not able to take in enough oxygen to make the ATP needed fo
Reptile [31]

When the swimmer is unable to take in enough oxygen for the sprint, the ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) will be compromised. In such conditions, the body will use anaerobic respiration to produce the ATP. Anaerobic respiration takes place in the absence of oxygen. It used the electron acceptors in place of the oxygen in the respiratory cycle. The amount of the ATP produced is, however, less in anaerobic respiration.

Hence, the answer is 'Option C - Anaerobic respiration would be used to produce small amounts of ATP in the absence of oxygen'.

Team of scientists is studying several plant species that they think could become new farm crops. The scientists want to apply s
Ratling [72]

Answer:

B. very high genetic variation

Explanation:

Selective breeding is the process by which crops or animals with desired phenotypic traits are chosen to produce offspring, which will contain the desired qualities. In this case, a group of scientists is trying to apply the principles of selective breeding to develop a particular crop plant.

This goal of producing a useful crop plant by the scientists can only be achieved when the plant species in question possess a HIGH GENETIC VARIATION i.e. difference in genetic constitution of individuals of the same species. This allows the individuals in the population to survive better.
