The level of oxygen in the air is measured in a garden and on a city road. Which location has a higher level of oxygen and why?

The oxygen level is the same in both places because oxygen production by photosynthesis remains constant, regardless of location. The oxygen level in the city is higher because the exhaust gases from vehicles produce oxygen through the release of carbon dioxide. The oxygen level in the garden is higher because the plants are constantly releasing oxygen through photosynthesis.

The oxygen level in the garden is higher because the plants are constantly releasing oxygen through photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis is the process by which the plants make their food with the help of sunlight. This food helps the plant to live and grow. The by-products created by photosynthesis are glucose and oxygen. The glucose is used by the plants for growth and oxygen is released in the air.

The one component in photosynthesis that can't be recycled but must be constantly available is energy.

Light energy, mostly from sunlight, is the main requirement for photosynthesis to occur.

Photosynthesis is a process wherein light energy is converted into chemical energy.

Why do leaves appear green?
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

The correct answer option is B. Green wavelengths are the least used in photosynthesis.

Explanation:

Plants have a pigment in them called as chlorophyll. This chlorophyll is able to absorb only certain wavelengths of the light within the light spectrum.

From that visible light spectrum, chlorophyll is only able to absorb light of red and blue wavelength. The green light is not absorbed by the by chlorophyll as it is reflected back.

Therefore, this reflection of green light makes the leaves to appear green.

A sperm and egg are each _________. They fuse during fertilization to produce a _________ cell. A sperm and egg are each _______
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

3. haploid; diploid

Explanation:

Sperm is male gamete or often called male reproductive cell. During the process of spermatogenesis, reductional division (meiosis) occurs in the spermatocytes and spermatids are formed which further mature to sperms. Thus as a result of meiosis, their chromosome number is reduced to half and thus they become haploid cells. During oogensis, eggs are also formed as a result of meiosis which reduces the chromosome number and so eggs are also haploid.

When during fertilization, these two haploid nucleus of these cells fuse together, they form a diploid zygote.
