Well tbh they knew they couldn't really run away because if they did they knew there family would be seriously beaten or worse killed and if they tried to fight back they would be punished. so ig they would just have to listen and do wht they say for the sake if themselves and their family.

The preamble was used to "sell" the ideas of the new system...the Articles of Confederation to many was a perfect form of govt. This new one was to be more perfect. Basically strengthening those areas that were causing economic and political problems</span>
